Posts, Y-stands & droppers
Posts are corner / straining posts (each includes two stays), one per corner/end, and never more than the max post spacing without a post. Y-stands sit along the line. Droppers fill between them (1–3 m).

How we calculate
- Posts: one per corner/end; add posts so no stretch is longer than your max post spacing. Each post includes two stays.
- Y-stands: every Y-stand spacing along the fence (posts not double-counted).
- Droppers: every dropper spacing, excluding posts and Y-stands.
- Galvanized binding wire 1.6 mm: 150 mm × wire lines × droppers.
- Galvanized binding wire 2 mm: 250 mm × wire lines × Y-stands.
- Fence wire: length × lines × (1 + waste%), at 2.24 mm; mass from round-wire steel density.
- Wire quantities: metres with kilograms below; metres and kilograms both rounded up.
