Veldspan is a pre-manufactured hinge-joint field fence: horizontal high-tensile wires with vertical stay wires, supplied in compact 100 m rolls. It is used for livestock, game, quarantine camps, and boundary fences. Droppers are not needed because the vertical stay wires hold the mesh upright. Typical layout: straining posts (or wooden poles) every 100 m, with Y-stands or wooden line poles about every 7.5 m. Available in common heights and line counts (6-line 900 mm through 16-line 2410 mm), with vertical stay spacing typically 150 mm or 300 mm.
