Rebar mass table
Nominal mass for round steel bar at 7,850 kg per cubic metre. Real bars vary slightly with rolling tolerance, so use these as planning figures.

How to work it out
Mass per metre in kg is the diameter in mm squared, divided by 162.2. For Y12: 12 x 12 = 144, and 144 / 162.2 = 0.888 kg per metre.
Multiply by the bar length for one bar, and by the number of bars for the order. For 50 Y12 bars of 6 m: 0.888 x 6 x 50 = 266 kg.
To go the other way, divide 1,000 kg by the kg per metre to get metres per ton.
How we supply rebar
Y3 to Y5 come in coil or straight and cut. Y6 and above come in 1 ton or 2 ton packs, or straight and cut from 0.5 m to 12 m.
